Garden Maintenance Service
Emmaus Sheffield has developed a garden maintenance service and is now working in partnership with South Yorkshire Housing Association's Homeless Services department, maintaining the gardens of the various properties in Sheffield, Rotherham and Chesterfield.
John who works on the team commented, "I really enjoy the work. You get a great sense of satisfaction when you see a garden that's so overgrown, the kids who live there can't play in it. But then by the time we leave it's been transformed and they have a place to play and run about."
Lee who heads up the garden maintenance team said, "It's rewarding work, seeing a garden changed from a jungle to a nice tidy space again... and it's nice when everyone's always so pleased with what we've done."

Companions from Emmaus Sheffield are working towards their NVQ level 2 in Amenities Horticulture through Bishop Burton College, Beverley, near Hull.
